Three times the fun…

With the exception of the carbs on sport bikes of the mid 90’s to the advent of fuel injection, these Hitachi’s are probably the most complex carberator on any “modern” motorcycle, but now that I have cleaned and adjusted them, they are able to pass a more perfect mixture of fuel and air to their XS 850 powerplant, which made the owner of this sweet triple very happy.

Necessity is the mother of invention

Replacing a control cable on a jet ski is no simple task, but when you don’t have the correct tools, it can be impossible. And while I was aware I needed to access the retaining nut to remove and replace said cable, my efforts to utilize what was at hand proved futile. So, I designed a special tool from an old Craftsman socket and a fork tube removed from a 1971 Triumph Bonneville, walked it over to my friend Mike’s shop and had it welded together. Voila!! Victory is mine!!
