I still remember riding the very first Heritage Softail that came into Phil Peterson’s Harley-Davidson up 441 in Miami in 1985. I was  the rookie who had to assemble and prep the new bikes and that particular model was noveau retro like nothing before it! I recall people rolling down their car windows and asking me “What year is that bike”? It attracted attention from everybody, not just enthusiasts. Harley-Davidson were truly the founders of making the old new. Now, the craze has muscle cars and panel trucks on every corner… Didn’t someone once say that “imitation is the highest form of flattery”?
