Yamaha called it right….

Miriam-Webster’s dictionary defines VIRAGO as “a woman of great stature, strength, and courage”… But that’s not the whole story. I’m sure that was their intent when looking for a catchy epithet for a new line of cruisers back in the 80’s. Because the first definition and therefore the more correct is “a loud overbearing woman : termagant”. Which explains the love/hate relationship so many people have with their Virago’s… a beautiful scoot with a wild and crazy temperament!!

PS: Yes, I just finished repairing the starter and starter clutch system on a 1992 XV750…..
