Autumn Norton Afternoon

I took the award winning Norton ES2 for a spirited ride this afternoon! It was a bit overcast, but warm and comfortable, so I took her out just to keep the fuel fresh and the oil circulated. She fired up on the first kick and ran flawlessly along several miles of Mechanicsville’s back-roads. Beauty in motion on a lovely Autumn afternoon.

Could you hold it down, please?

Took a delightedly spirited ride home on the ES2 tonight! After disassembling the mag/dyno to replace the drive gears and clean the armature and brushes, I replaced the hand grips with some beautiful Barnett pieces and painted the white YUASA battery black so it would appear somewhat proper, then fabricated a battery hold down strap as to what I thought it may have resembled when it left the factory 60 years ago.

Next stop is the VBMC Rallye coming up the first Sunday in October. Take a little ride and see this beautiful machine in person!!
