Dragon tail traveler

Two and a half days riding the Dragon and surrounding back roads and byways was absolutely phenomenal!! Put that ride at the top of your bucket list, says I!! We rode almost 600 miles of twisty, undulating motorcycle perfect roads, going as far as Cherokee NC with less than 30 miles of highway boredom. The scenery was excellent, the brothers on bikes exemplary, and the Southern hospitality of our hosts was delicious!! And the only mishap amongst us was a misfire from one of two cylinders… Can’t wait to do it again!!

This fine steed shall be my mount with which to tame the Dragon or have fun trying!! A couple of adjustments to make it suit my riding preferences and it’s ready to carry me whither the road leads!! Thanks to my pal Kevin at M4 Cycles for coming through in the nick of time, as he always does. Good on ya, Mate!! And may the Lord bless our time on the winding back roads with grace and joy and safety!

Closed for the Dragon

What to say? It’s a beautifully cool August evening much like the first summer we spent in Richmond 17 years ago. After departing Florida’s brutal humidity and long summers, Virginia was a welcome relief of fertile green and a cool change of temperatures in the physical and metaphorical senses. And even now I have a pleasant angst as I am finally getting to ride the Tail of the Dragon next week, but alas, not on my old Alazzurra that has been my steed for over twenty years. After repairing a bent intake valve due to a totally random kick back, I managed to break an oil ring when re-assembling the cylinders… DOH!!! Thankfully, my pal Kevin has an SV 650 I can borrow which will save the day and the trip, and it’s almost like my little “L” twin. All that blather just to inform you that G6 MotoSports will be closed Thursday and Friday August 22 and 23. 318 curves in 11 miles. Are we there yet?!?!
